Purpose of Position:

Responsible for being the first point of contact for S.T.A.R. – Stand Together And Recover Centers, Inc., at the Administration office to perform the regular accounting tasks essential to the good financial order of an organization. Process a variety of financial transactions and maintain accounting records – including the general ledger, invoices, sales receipts, purchase orders, accounts, profits and loss sheets, tax returns, and manual checks. This role is a part of the S.T.A.R. Leadership Team and supervises one or more staff.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

• Record day-to-day financial transactions within QuickBooks Enterprise/Pro.

• Monitor and enter day-to-day invoices from suppliers/vendors.

• Watch expense reimbursements.

• Prepare and manage check and EFT payments to vendors.

• Prepare monthly credit card reconciliation.

• Be responsible for the posting and reconciliation of all intercompany transactions.

• Be able to manage transactions in multiple QuickBooks companies. 

• Assemble information & prepare the payroll tax & AZ VAT reports on a monthly basis.

• Manage and monitor the company's cash flow.

• Review monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

• Assist in compiling and building the company’s financial statements, practically the internal management financial statements with actual to budget variances 

• Recommend changes to expenses compared to budgets using trends and encounter data.

• Other duties as deemed necessary by Executive Management.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or Accounting is required. 5 years of relevant experience as a staff Accountant with demonstrated skills may be substituted for a degree. ? Required / ? Preferred

Experience:

5 years’ relevant experience required. Experience in a non-profit and/or healthcare setting is is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise/Pro

• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.

• Good communication and high interpersonal skills.

• Strong verbal and written English skills.

• High level of analytical abilities.

• Must demonstrate time management, organizational, and judgment skills.

• Must be professional and friendly.

• Understanding of US tax regulations as they relate to non-profits and 990 preparation and AZ state sales and use tax knowledge.

• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

• Must work independently and be a Recovery focused team player.
