S&S Transport is looking for a looking for a savvy Parts Associate/Service Writer to join our growing team of service department employees. You’ll handle everything from interfacing with service technicians, managing our inventory of heavy truck parts, and translating drivers needs into work orders for technicians. The ideal candidate is highly organized and has in-depth product knowledge of heavy truck and trailer parts. Pay is based on experience.

Parts Manager responsibilities:

• Manage the parts inventory levels closely for our repair needs
• Works with the shop manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
• Listen carefully to driver descriptions and assess the vehicle to determine the best repair plan
• Coordinates a prompt, efficient and timely flow of paperwork.
• Directs shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing
• Track records for parts warranties
• Order parts that meet the cost and quality standards of the automotive parts department, dealership, and vehicle manufacturers
• Schedule appointments over the phone

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• At least one year of experience in truck repair and parts
• Management experience is a plus
• Excellent product knowledge, customer service skills, administrative skills, and organizational skills are necessary to manage inventory effectively
