General Accounting Clerk

Job Description:

Bookkeeping responsibilities including accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, preparing budget reports. Maintain records using accounting software and paper files, Respond to billing questions, Invoice customers, other duties, as necessary.

Responsibility (to include but not limited to):

• Answer multi-line phone system and route calls or take detailed message.
• Review incoming data and documents for accuracy.
• Perform A/P and A/R entries.
• Make files, folders or other for retaining and utilizing necessary paperwork.
• Scan and attach backup in accounting software.
• Receive payments and record receipts.
• Verify ledgers against checks, receipts, and deposit information.
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Assist the property manager with paperwork, bills, onboarding, and other duties.
• Must have strong math skills, know how to operate 10-key, know Office Suites Outlook, Word, and Excel, able to answer multi-line phone syst able to work independently, and follow verbal and written directions.
• Gather information to produce reports.

Educational requirements for this position:

· A prior work experience of at least 5 years in an Office Accounting or Administrator position

· Property rental experience helpful.

Skills required:

• Communication skills, convey thoughts to others effectively.
• Strong Math Skills
• Computer and program(s) operation.
• Proficient at Excel – design and implement formulas in spreadsheets.
• Operate 10 key calculators proficiently.
• Knowledge of the principle of bookkeeping and accounting

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Lunch ½ hour unpaid.
• Location - Mascoutah, IL 62258: Reliably commute to and from work.

• Customer service: 3 years (Preferred)
• Organizational skills: 3 years (Required)
• Administrative experience: 5 years (Required)
• Accounting Duties: 3 years (Preferred)
• Microsoft Excel: 2 years (Required)

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
