TITLE: Production Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Exhaust Manufacturing

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

Directs the activities of cell personnel to ensure products conform to engineering specifications and company policies, and achieve efficient economical production rates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Thoroughly understand and adhere to Production goals, objectives, and strategies

• Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective leader of personnel and developer of solutions

• Direct, plan, and coordinate the production lines to achieve cost, schedule and quality metrics

• Utilize ERP/MRP system to effectively schedule production orders

• Proactively participate in and positively enforce all Lean Manufacturing initiatives

• Responsible for the selection, performance, and optimal utilization of personnel by mentoring and providing educational opportunities and administering the employee evaluation program

• Responsible for the enforcement and maintenance of positive morale amongst employees within scope of responsibility

• Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced employees

• Maintain time and attendance records for reports within scope of responsibility

• Maintain records of departmental activities as required and analyze data to support issue resolution or process improvement

• Ensures the safety of employees by recognizing hazards and is an active participant in safety issue resolution

• Setup and operate production equipment with ability to effectively train Operators on the required processes and procedures

• Collaborate with various departments to achieve timelines for projects and process improvements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 years of experience working in a fabricating / manufacturing environment

• 2 years of experience supervising personnel

• High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus

• Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards

• Well organized, self-directed, and team oriented

• Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Working knowledge of computer applications

• Fabrication background with MIG/TIG welding experience

PHYSICAL AND PPE REQUIREMENTS:

Employee is regularly required to:

• Stand

• Use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls

• Talk and hear

• Walk, stoop, crouch and bend

• Reach above shoulders

• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance

• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception

• Must comply with safety equipment standards; safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes

TRAVEL:

• Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected
