Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer - TDOT

S&ME is seeking individuals with a passion for Geotechnical Engineering and the design of soil-supported structures. If you are eager to contribute to the coordination and execution of geotechnical Tennessee Department of Transportation projects across the state then come join our geotechnical team in Nashville, Tennessee as a Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer and help us provide engineering solutions to our clients.

What You Will Do:

As a Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer, you are a strong team player who can communicate and instill S&ME's culture within the geotechnical team; create an engaging and safe work environment where all staff feels secure to have a voice and participate; challenge and grow staff to reach their full potential; mentor junior staff; and demonstrate a passion for the work and our client's success. You have a verifiable track record of developing clients and businesses with TDOT and have a demonstrated ability to plan and direct geotechnical work on a wide range of transportation design projects for a variety of geologic settings. Clients will consist of contractors, other consulting firms (as sub-consultants), TDOT, and other Tennessee Transportation Infrastructure owners.

• Lead geotechnical work on TDOT projects, managing pursuit and execution.
• Work with a geotechnical team on analysis, design, and construction-related tasks.
• Handle project responsibilities, including scheduling, budgeting, and meeting individual sales and revenue targets.
• Engage in effective communication with internal and external clients.
• Manage tasks from seismic analyses to construction site inspections, ensuring project success.

Who You Are:

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering
• You have a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee
• You have 6 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering
• You have 2 years in a Project Manager role
• You are able to manage multiple projects at one time
• You have a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, a plus
