S&D Coffee is Hiring a SVP Procurement & Planning Near Little Rock, AR

The Senior Vice President of Procurement and Planning is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for driving cost efficiency, vendor relationship strategy, managing risk and physical positions around all non-commodity items across Westrock Coffee's network of manufacturing facilities. In addition, the role shall oversee our Scheduling and Planning department, along with our Co-Manufacturing department.
This position will develop and maintain internal processes and procedures to enable clear views on risk positions, management of vendor RFPs, contract negotiations, and alignment with financial reporting expectations. The position holds a key cross-functional role with Commercialization, Product Development, Sales, Manufacturing and Finance.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Supply Chain, this position will develop and mentor a team of approximately 4 direct reports and up to 35 indirect reports to implement cost improvement and supply chain systems in support of Westrock's fast growing beverage business across multiple categories.
Job Responsibilites:
  • Establish & maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement, planning/scheduling and co-manufacturing activities to include but not limited to supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance, buyer activity levels, forecast accuracy and material shortage elimination.
  • Play a pivotal role cross-functionally to commercialize new customers/products and optimize the product lifecycle process.
  • Set up new supply chains, including outsourced manufacturing relationships, through contract execution and administration.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to draft and implement a robust procurement policy.
  • Champion the Sales & Operation Planning (S&OP) process for the organization. Educate cross-functional stakeholders and ensure engaged participation. Standardize the process and cadence across locations and implement key metrics to measure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Develop and integrate best business practices for systems and tools to optimize supply chain planning and scheduling across all of our domestic manufacturing facilities.
  • Promote solid partnership with suppliers to ensure that the products and services delivered meet/exceed established standards. Manage supplier performance through a formalized supplier relationship management program.
  • Develop and manage resource planning, procurement budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
  • Lead strategic sourcing strategy and supplier relationship management for all Ingredients, Flexible and Rigid Packaging, Allied items, and Indirect goods and services.
  • Identify and lead cross-functional partnerships across the organization, particularly with the Operations and Finance teams, looking for continuous improvement opportunities to reduce COGs, operational costs and inventory positions.
  • Work with the EVP of Supply Chain on defining risk management and other financial reporting systems to accurately track derivative and physical inventory positions.
  • Build a robust talent pipeline. Hire, develop and retain a world-class, high performing team.
  • Drive performance and talent management initiatives to ensure a top-tier sourcing team, act as a coach and mentor, and develop top talent within the business.

Qualifications:
  • 15 years' experience in Supply Chain management with emphasis on commodities processing experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or Food Science or a related degree with relevant experience
  • Advanced understanding of inventory management, sourcing, and services procurement with supplier relationships.
  • Management experience with commodities procurement, trading and logistics functions or other relevant food and beverage purchasing experience. Futures and options trading knowledge and experience in reporting systems a plus.
  • Experience in food and beverage manufacturing or other consumer packaged goods
  • Strategic thinker with strong financial acumen and communication skillset, cross functional initiatives, engage with customers, and represent the company
  • Budgeting and financial experience required
  • Able to interpret problems and present clear, actionable solutions to people across a range of departments
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as necessary
