Summary of Job Duties:
Candidate will, under limited supervision, perform planning functions and execute actions to ensure projects meet cost, schedule and performance requirements. Candidate will also perform complex technical operations on the production and service of complex equipment using best practices. Candidate also be required to troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, software, and control systems on the production floor and/or at customer’s facilities. Some travel will be required to customer’s sites.
Specific Job Duties:
o Interface with internal and external customers
o Understands build Process of complex equipment
o Estimates labor hours for new subassemblies
o Monitors build process, make recommendation and corrections for improvement
o Plans and monitors labor; updates production schedule
o Assigns work to technicians and monitors productivity
o Escalates material issues and ensures timely movement of material such as RTS, MD’s etc.
o Monitors material availability/delivery and adjusts build plan as appropriate.
o Communicates build status within the company
o Escalates issues, in a timely manner, about labor, technical issues, people issues)
o Hands on building Product
o Builds complex assemblies, subsystems, and machines
o Brings up machines during assembly and start-up including the I/O checkout and troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, software, and control system problems.
o Performs precision alignments and calibrations of subsystems and systems
o Troubleshoots PLC, motion control, and I/O subsystems using PC based software, diagnostic tools, and measurement tools.
o Interfaces with Engineering to solve issues related to bill of materials, drawings, schematics, software, and control system.
o Performs final qualification test of subsystems and systems
o Travels to customer sites to install new equipment, and/or troubleshoot electrical, software and control issues with existing installed equipment.
o Documentation red lines, update and implementation
o Generation/creation/correction of product documentation such as assembly drawings, checklists and procedures o Maintains product’s quality records o Maintains production floor organized, materials, tools, etc.
o Monitors Quality and takes corrective actions as appropriate
o Provide training to fellow technicians, customers, and suppliers
o Document scope changes
Min. Qualifications Required:
o Prototyping experience in a production work environment.
o 5 years of experience working as an E/M technician.
o Solid electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability.
o Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical CAD drawings and blueprints.
o Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
o Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing workload, schedule, and priorities.
o Candidate should have good interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment.
o Must have solid verbal and written communication skills. Must be willing and able to work overtime.
o Computer skills: knowledge and ability to work efficiently with Microsoft Excel macros & charts, Microsoft Word, Outlook.
Skills and/or Training Desired:
o AA degree in electronics, industrial, or mechanical is preferred.
o Experience writing or debugging PLC ladder logic.
o Military electrician technical training.
