Position Description :
Ryerson has an opportunity for a Service Center Operator position. As a Service Center Operator, you are responsible for ensuring the material meets a customer's expectations by checking the size, finish, and accuracy of the finished product.

The hours for the 1st shift include Monday thru Friday, 6 : 00 AM -2 : 00 PM
Safety is a priority you will learn proper safety measures via online and in-person training
You start the day reviewing production orders and then preparing your material for processing
You will use a crane and / or forklift to move material for outbound shipping
Check to make sure your machine and station is in working order and identify any issues.
You will keep your work area clean and ensure that all workplace hazards are reported immediately
Other miscellaneous duties as directed by supervision
Position Requirements :
This position is safety sensitive and requires operating a forklift and / or overhead crane. Successful candidate must be able to operate heavy machinery.
Ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision and hearing, as well as mobility and lifting requirements
Successful completion of the Ramsay Corporation Combined Basic Skills Assessment which evaluates your reading, math, inspection & measurement, and process monitoring & problem-solving skills
Regular attendance, including being on time and ready to work at assigned start time.
Great attitude and team player
Ability to work assigned overtime, at times with short notice
