USED FOR FLEX EMPLOYEES ONLY Summary This position is responsible for managing customer satisfaction for a specifically assigned customer(s). The Account Manager will develop, maintain and manage the relationship between internal field operations and their assigned client by owning processes that add value to the client. A successful Account Manager will search for, communicate and implement new and creative methods to improve customer service, increase productivity and drive out cost. The Account Manager will be responsible for leadership of employees as well as profitable management of the functional areas within his/her span of control. Essential Functions Proactively and regularly communicate with customers. Provide regular reporting /presentations as requested by customer and internal stakeholders. Include cost studies, measurement tools, key performance indicators and utilization studies. Engage in daily, weekly and season capacity forecast planning and execution with the customer. Lead implementation efforts for the successful onboarding of new business and clients. Provide start up assistance - equipment resets, driver hiring requests, system implementation, and customer specific process training. Provide data used for contract renewals, rate increases and to evaluate changes in business by preparing operating assumptions for the account. Assist leadership by overseeing the execution and implementation and measurement of Key Performance Indicators and supporting recommendations to drive out costs and add value to the customer, as well as prepare for annual account assessments and mid-year business reviews, and other on going customer presentations, contract renewals , and new business opportunities. Cultivate relationships with external carriers regarding freight availability, service issues, and increase market capacity while maintaining communication with internal teams to increase volume opportunities. Manage exempt and non-exempt employees. Ensure accurate, timely invoicing and reporting is provided to the customer and, when needed, engage with the customer to resolve issues. Support payroll and billing activities as well as P&L responsibilities. Complete QBR's with the customer Develop and maintain account specific SOP for regional playbooks. Additional Responsibilities Must be available to work on a flexible schedule on the various work shifts. Performs other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Builds and manages effective teams. Strong leadership and motivating skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual, English and French (for Quebec locations only). Excellent interpersonal skills within a diverse team environment. Demonstrates problem solving skills. Demonstrates analytical skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to prioritize, structure and schedule tasks to maximize effort and meet deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required in Finance, Business Administration/Management/Communication or Transportation/Logistics Three (3) years or more in Finance or Transportation/Logistics, preferred Three (3) years or more in Customer experience & Account Management, preferred Three (3) years or more in Dedicated Transportation, preferred Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) is required Excellent knowledge of Transportation and/or Warehouse Logistics operations Excellent knowledge of safety and security requirements Travel 20% - 30% DOT Regulated None Job Category Logistics Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
