Mental Health Workers provide care to individuals with mental or emotional conditions or disabilities under the direction of nurses and physicians. They closely monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being and report to medical staff.

Some responsibilities include:

• Monitoring vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure
• Perform EKGs
• Draw labs and collect specimen from patients
• Assist patients in their daily activities such as: eating, dressing, and bathing
• Provide therapeutic groups and recreational activities to patients
• Assist in non-violent crisis intervention

• BA in Mental Health discipline.
• Certification eligible as a Screener by the State of New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Hospitals.

• Three years experience in mental health setting, one of which must be in a crisis setting.
