RWJBarnabas Health is Hiring a Registered Dietitian (Per-Diem) (Grant Funded) (Ambulatory Care Center) Near Livingston, NJ

JOB SUMMARY:

RD will be responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy and sports nutrition education in individual and group settings. Duties will include nutrition therapy counseling for individuals and sports nutrition education groups. S/he will be responsible for collaboration with the healthcare team/performance professionals (physicians, athletic directors, athletic trainers, school nurse, school psychologist, strength and conditioning coach, etc.)for the performance management of athletes. Expectations include contribution as a member of a multidisciplinary team within sports settings to integrate nutrition programming into a team or athlete s annual training and competition plan. Responsibilities will involve community outreach with contracted schools as well as counseling sessions. Telemedicine and virtual educational programs as well as limited onsite programming required.

EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualifications include a Registered Dietitian (RD) within the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

  • 2 3 years experience in sports nutrition.

  • Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy for sports nutrition.

  • Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) required.

  • Candidate will be expected and to be proficient with EMR/EHR.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills and computer skills are required.
