- Job Summary
This role is responsible for providing optimal nutritional care to patients, which compiles with the standards of care in the dietetic profession.
- Responsible for the medical nutrition therapy of patient/residents; nutritional assessment, nutrition care plans, patient visitation, diet counseling, consults regarding advance nutrition support, as well as assist in other areas related to the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
- Performs nutritional assessments and nutrition screens, which are appropriate and timely per established policies and procedure.
- Develops nutrition care plans and monitors patient response to care plan developed.
- Provides inpatient discharge diet instructions.
- Keeps thorough and updated information on patient profile sheets.
- Provides diet consultations as ordered by physicians.
- Collaborates with physician and nursing to deliver quality nutrition care.
- Educational Skills Required (Degree(s), Certification(s), License, etc.)
- Registered Dietitian or RD eligible; completed ADA approved internship.
- Must have the ability to read, write and speak English (or other languages as necessary).
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Work Experience Required
- Experience in health care environment preferred.
