Job Overview:

As an experienced Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN), you are part of our team of experts and professionals who work diligently to save lives, prolong lives and improve the quality of people's lives. Trinitas Emergency Department is one of the busiest in the state with more than 73,000 emergency visits annually. Our newly renovated Emergency Room has a total of 45 treatment rooms with separate treatment areas for families, children and seniors.

Qualifications:

• A graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
• Baccalaureate or Associate Degree in Nursing

Required:

• A minimum of 1 year plus experience as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse
• Experienced with EKG and Phlebotomy
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Maintain Customer Service Standards of Excellence
• Maintain Joint Commission Readiness
• Maintain CEUs
• Successful completion of all Orientation Programs

Preferred:

• Medical-Surgical, Telemetry and/or ER nursing experience
• ER certifications and/or national nursing certifications

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• BLS through American Heart Association upon hire
• ACLS Certification within 6 months of the start date
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License or active Compact Registered Nurse License with New Jersey endorsement

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day Shift, 7A-7P
• Per Diem

Essential Functions:

• The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
• The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available.
• The Registered Nurse is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.
• The Registered Nurse is responsible for knowledge of the patient population served.
• The Registered Nurse is responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
• The Registered Nurse is responsible for consistently setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
• The Registered Nurse is an individual practitioner and the interdisciplinary team manager, who utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient s needs.
