Clinical Staff Job Description

Position: Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English) Clinical Specialist

Program: Metro Regional Diagnostic and Treatment Center (RDTC)

Job Qualifications: Master s degree (or higher) in psychology or social work; NJ Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); or License-eligible psychologist with NJ permit (Ph.D., Psy. D.)

Job Specific Requirements:

Psychosocial Assessments: Able to conduct forensic psychosocial evaluations of Spanish speaking children and adolescents referred for child maltreatment

Crisis Intervention: Provides crisis intervention and emergency services to child victims and families as needed, in English or Spanish.

Spanish-speaking Parent Support Group Leader: Facilitates and leads Trauma-Focused support group for parents of child abuse victims; Trains Master s level social work and psychology students to co-lead Spanish-speaking group sessions.

Psychotherapy: Provides trauma-focused individual and group therapy to child victims and families in Spanish.

Forensic Reports, treatment plans and progress notes: Provides well integrated psychosocial evaluations in timely fashion for use by DCPP and their Deputy Attorney Generals (DAGs) as needed for court proceedings. Provides Spanish translations as relevant and necessary within forensic reports.

Develops and monitors patient treatment plans with goals, measurable objectives and outcomes.

Maintains timely progress notes necessary for documentation in medical records.

Training in Child Maltreatment: Provides training in child abuse and neglect to hospitals, community agencies, schools and to other professionals in the field of child maltreatment.

Trains Master s level social work and psychology students in TF-CBT for Spanish speaking populations.
