Job Description:

As a Service Manager at RV Depot, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of our Service, Detail, and Parts Departments. Your role will involve working closely with Sales and Finance to ensure smooth processes across the dealership, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards in all areas of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the Service, Detail, and Parts Departments.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Finance teams to ensure smooth processes for customers and staff.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, finding creative solutions to resolve daily concerns.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficient in service writing.
  • Excel in parts management and processes.
  • Keep records of work orders, purchase orders, and receiving.
  • Manage inventory and conduct year-end inventory.
  • Direct and dispatch team members to enhance efficiency.
  • Understand and manage technician flat rate hours and billable time.
  • Manage open work orders to prevent delays in workflow.
  • Audit work orders, parts purchase orders, and track advisor goals.
  • Ensure quality control on completed service repairs within the shop.
  • Maintain quality standards for RV deliveries.
  • Expert in insurance and estimates.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the parts and service industry for resources and buying power.
  • Strong service repair knowledge on all RV systems.
  • Demonstrate impeccable time management skills.
  • Experience in hiring, development, training, and coaching.
  • Create a culture-rich atmosphere for team members to thrive.
  • Experience in budgeting, planning, forecasting, and prioritizing company objectives.
  • Proficient in operating a cash drawer, processing payments, and handling cash without discrepancies.
  • Enforce safety within the department and conduct safety meetings.
  • Conduct professional and productive meetings with staff.
  • Report department numbers to senior management in relation to budgets.
  • Implement innovative problem-solving techniques.
  • Maintain a positive and motivating attitude.
  • Implement training across the Service and Parts Department.
  • Respond swiftly to staff needs and senior leadership direction.

Preferred Experience:

  • 3-5 years of service management experience.
  • 1-2 years of technician experience.
  • 1-2 years of parts experience.
  • 1-2 years of parts management experience.

  • 1 year of service advisor experience.
