Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting in the development of marketing and communications program for the Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center (RADC) to enhance health communications. Utilize a variety of social media/networks, electronic communications, the website, communication technologies, and written and phone communications to actively engage the RADC's diverse community and research participant populations. Work as part of an interdepartmental team dedicated to the marketing and communications goals of the RADC and Rush as a whole, collaborating with professionals in the Department of Marketing and Communications, and various departments and Communications professionals in other departments. Work within established marketing and communications frameworks to the fullest advantage of the RADC, following Rush branding, social media and other relevant policies. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
Admissions/External Communications
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center (RADC) Communications plan. Evaluate and expand existing RADC communication materials.
  • Implement methods to evaluate effectiveness of RADC communication strategies.
  • Work with the social media manager in the Department of Marketing and Communications to create social media campaigns for the RADC by coordinating video/photo shoots, blogs, and promotional text for new media outlets. Create RADC social media accounts and manage the RADC's presence on official social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, etc.); respond in a timely manner to adverse comments, offer favorable comments, and develop content to promote the RADC.
  • Assists to develop social media campaigns and monthly social media calendar for RADC and ICRN social media outlets.
  • Collaborate with RADC administration to update and maintain RADC and affiliated websites. This may include designing, creating, and editing print and video content.
  • Collaborate with media services group at Rush and other Communications professionals as appropriate.
  • Develop and disseminate appropriate messaging for RADC news, events, and research.
  • Collaborate with RADC Outreach and Recruitment Core to develop and/or coordinate events designed to share research findings and develop relationships to have a more active and engaged research community.
  • Communicate continuously regarding marketing, communications, and public relations with RADC Outreach and Recruitment Core and leadership.
  • Provide expertise regarding internal/external marketing, communications, advertising, and public relations.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty and staff in understanding web-based marketing and social media outlets.
Required Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in health communications, public relations, social/digital media, journalism or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience building and updating websites.
  • Proficiency with social media (Twitter, WordPress, Facebook, Instagram), Microsoft Office (Word, Access and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • UX Design experience.
