Summary: Job Summary: Teaching Assistants are assigned to assist specific courses based on their specialty education and experience. This is a temporary, part-time position and teaching assistants may work as needed. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Responsibilities: Job Responsibilities: Assists primary course director in delivering instructional content in multiple courses in the program as assigned. Interacts with existing programs in the department and assists as assigned in these programs. Course assistance activities may include grading support, one-on-one student support, preparing course materials, and uploading and managing course information in Blackboard. Other duties as assigned.
Other information: Required Job Qualifications: Bachelor, Masters degree or earned Doctorate in applicable area to the profession required and as required for the program specific course instruction needs. Relevant experience or coursework may be eligible to waive the aforementioned requirement. Excellent skills in classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical assistance. Knowledge and experience with Web-Based education when applicable. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and leadership abilities. Ability to consistently instruct and counsel students in an informative and professional manner, if appropriate. Able and willing to learn new skills as needed, especially to work with new instructional technologies.
