The Academy at St. Joan of Arc is looking for an early childhood instructional assistant for the 24/25 school year who is enthusiastic about being part of Catholic education innovation. The Academy is a vibrant independent Catholic elementary school on Chicago's North Shore.

The Academy is uniquely governed by an independent Board of Directors. The nine-member Board is comprised of current and former school parents, select leaders from outside the school with specific subject matter expertise and a representative from the Archdiocese of Chicago. At the heart of the Academy at St. Joan of Arc is the understanding of the importance of a curriculum that emphasizes both faith and reason. The Academy at St. Joan of Arc embraces a Christ-centered curriculum in a values-based environment structured on Catholic teachings. The Academy at St. Joan of Arc provides a premier elementary school experience built around the way students worship, learn and live.

A. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum and/or experience in instructional strategies for implementing grade-specific literacy programs for students;

• Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students and parents;
• A positive attitude, as well as an ability to collaborate well with colleagues;
• A consistent and fair in approach to all students, parents, etc. while ensuring an appropriately disciplined positive environment;
• Experience with web-based learning, particularly through the use of laptops, chromebooks and other technology in the classroom;
• A passion for learning and sharing knowledge with others.
