Rumph & Associates is Hiring a SHUTTLE BUS DRIVER Near Atlanta, GA

Summary:

Rumph and Associates is seeking a full-time Shuttle Bus Driver for the Atlanta, Georgia area. A basic function of this position is the proper and safe operation of shuttle buses and transport of passengers. Basic characteristics are discipline, dependability, and a friendly disposition.

This position requires a valid Georgia driver’s license as a condition of employment; and an ability to drive 12-15 passenger vehicles to different Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) campus locations. Per instruction of the Shuttle Service Supervisor, this role requires precise communication and coordination in driving within a 25-mile radius and abide by all federal, state, local and CDC traffic laws and driving regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Required to transport passengers and materials irrespective of weather, traffic, or road conditions and be consistent with timings.

·Complete pre and post vehicle inspections.

·Available to work every scheduled workday (i.e., Monday through Friday), on time, as well as any special shift requirements that vary depending on need.

·Appearance must be well-groomed, neat, clean, and in complete uniform at all times.

·Must have and maintain a good standing Driver Motor Vehicle (DMV) record with Class C driving privileges along with an ability to comprehend and abide by all traffic regulations while transporting passengers to and from locations.

·Maintain trip logs that provide specific details (e.g., passenger count & routes).

·Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence or problem to the Shuttle Services Supervisor.

·Substitute for others, when necessary, if authorized.

·Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of the position, and a thorough knowledge of the major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area.

·Assist passengers with bags, other traveling items, or with the loading and unloading process, if necessary.

·Perform vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness of shuttle bus interiors, fueling of buses, and document/log the details.

·Must have good physical strength and fitness to lift moderate amounts of weight.

·Performs other duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High School diploma or GED equivalent. Must possess a current Georgia driver’s license. CDL license is preferred. Shall have five (5) years or more of documented experience operating 12 passenger or larger vehicle. Driver shall not have any record of suspension, revocation, DUI/DWI on state issued driver’s license. No criminal record convictions. Criminal justice clearance is required.

Proficient with automated equipment (scanners, copiers, computers, handheld radio, or other electronic equipment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos and fluent in English. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and other employees of the company. Listens and gets clarifications.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to drive, sit, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
