Purchasing Job Description

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented buyer to be responsible for purchasing quality products for our business. Responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, tracking orders, create and maintain inventory levels, new item creation, quality assurance of product, and working with multiple branch locations and departments throughout the business. The buyer will have the tools and resources needed to make purchase decisions based on demand.

Purchasing Responsibilities:

• Use the system software to research, select, and purchase quality products and materials based on product demand and forecasts.
• Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
• Communicate effectively with the sales team on product information, alternative products available, and inventory levels.
• Update inventory and ensure that stock is kept at appropriate levels.
• Regularly maintain item controls to ensure appropriate amount of stock is available.
• Arrange transport of goods to Rubber Inc warehouses, and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
• Coordinate with inventory team, management, and warehouses as required.
• Assess the quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
• Work closely with the Accounts Payable department to ensure purchase orders are received, pricing accurate, and purchase orders submitted with complete information.
• Build relationships with suppliers.

Purchasing Requirements:

• High School diploma.
• Relevant experience preferred in the automotive industry.
• Excellent computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Proficient in appropriate software.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
