**THIS IS AN IN-OFFICE POSITION**

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Web Strategy, the Content Writer will work closely with the Marketing and E-Commerce teams to develop and update corporate and product level content for www.rubbercal.com and other Rubber-Cal web properties. We are a small and fast-growing industrial distribution firm located in Fountain Valley and Santa Ana, California. The candidate should have a passion for technology and demonstrated experience (samples required) in writing content. Success in the position would also require Data Entry processing daily.

Description:

The Content Writer position is a hands-on writing position. This individual will write, edit, and produce written content for projects that include (but are not limited to): company websites, press releases, informative articles, and other social media platforms. Data Entry will consist of various duties between Marketing and Customer Service. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing, research, and critical thinking skills. He or she will demonstrate strong organizational and motivational skills, as well as a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will be able to follow directions well and complete assigned tasks with a sense of efficiency and urgency. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will be a prolific writer.

Responsibilities:

• Writing and editing content to assert the firm’s authority on brands and products
• Write, edit, and publish compelling original content that helps customers better understand our business, products, and culture
• Create headlines, teasers, and summaries that entice readers
• Work collaboratively with corporate marketing, product managers, and subject matter experts to develop engaging content, key messaging, and focus
• Develop internal content and editorial strategy that drives content improvement, quality, and timely updates
• Create and post captivating content to various social media platforms
• Collaborate with internal and external web teams for design, production, programming, or other project fulfillment
• Data Entry between departments will also be required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Social Sciences, or other Humanities majors (can be in progress)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required
• Strong writer and editor, comfortable matching his or her writing style to various web projects spanning both technical and non-technical subject matter
• Proven verbal communication skills, including communicating with others, listening effectively, interviewing and gathering information from sources at all levels in the organization, and working with varying levels of staff
• Solid understanding of web content strategies including SEO best practices
• Must demonstrate excellent written communication skills
• Must be able to maintain a positive, professional attitude
• Must be highly motivated with the ability to pay close attention to detail
• Must be able to take direction well and perform additional projects with enthusiasm
• Familiarity with social media and popular Web 2.0 platforms is a plus
