The Protected Communication Systems (PCS) Team is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer in a role committed to creating creative and cost-effective solutions for our ground and airborne systems.
As part of Collins Mission Systems, we specialize in developing advanced communication systems, ground and flight computers, sensors, cyber and software solutions, as well as providing integration of Mission Systems. As part of the PCS Department, the Systems Engineering department supports a variety of communications systems including SATCOM (including AEHF, EHF, X-Band, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, C-Band, and PTW), Line-of-Site (LOS) Radio Terminals and Secure Switching Networks.
This position is eligible for relocation assistance.
Responsibilities:
Aiding in the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation
Supporting lab activities including definition, setup, configuration management, and testing
Defining Hardware and Software Interfaces
Integration of Solutions within their target environment
Executing Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing
Documenting minor changes in systems or processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness
Defining and setting objectives for area of responsibility
Communicating with team members within and outside of team
Explaining policies, practices, and procedures within the organization
Influencing decision-makers with recommended courses of action
Providing supporting evidence of work area using theoretical to advanced knowledge from University Degree combined with Professional Experience
Analyzing and documenting system behaviors
Supporting system trade studies, requirements analysis, allocation to subsystems
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
Strong integration and test experience including test procedure development, test automation, test execution, and test reporting
Proficient in tooling to include Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.)
Ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance or Higher is REQUIRED within 1 year of start date
Security Clearance:
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Agile working environment experience
Test automation experience in a CI/CD environment
Ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams of design professionals including electrical, mechanical, software, test, logistics and other System engineers.
Good communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and ability to effectively communicate with IPT leaders, hardware and software development engineers, specialty engineers, program managers, and our customers
Systems support to software application development
Systems support to hardware development
System or application integration
Experience in Virtual Machine design and deployment
Experience in Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, PTW, or V/UHF
Experience in Scripting

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
