The Staff Accountant will support the financial operations of the company including month/year end close, financial and other related audits, budgeting, planning, and other financial matters.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Support period-end closing process
• Maintain and update accounting records and files
• Support sales and use tax filing process
• Support property tax filing process
• Support maintenance of fixed asset and inventory subledgers
• Reconcile all assigned accounts timely and accurately
• Assist in publishing financial statements
• Assist in budgeting
• Prepare documents for financial audits
• Assist in generating ad-hoc financial reports for divisions/lines of business
• Assist in monthly margin analysis at a financial statement level relating to projects and lines of business. Reporting on margin anomalies on business lines and overall company level.
• Analysis of various financial information on a periodic basis
• Assist in Revenue/Cost functions
• Special projects as needed
Qualifications:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent and highly accurate math and accounting skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems. Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
• Accounting or Business Administration Degree with an Accounting emphasis required
• 2 years or more of related accounting experience in the construction and/or manufacturing industry with a multiple entity structure is required.
• Solid understanding of GAAP.
• Accounting for inventory experience.
• Sales and use tax experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information.
• Ability to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information.
• Required to sit at a desk work station for long and short periods of time.
• Push, pull, lift and carry at least 10 pounds.
• Occasionally required to walk and stand.
• Required to have visual acuity with or without correction in order to read and interpret contract information and view information on a computer monitor.
• Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach.
• May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Reporting Structure:
• Reports to the Accounting Supervisor

Compensation:
RSS pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience and skill level.
