Description

Our Plano office is adding a project engineer with a background and interest in transportation but will also provide support in general civil/municipal services such as drainage, water, wastewater, trails, and roadway reconstruction.

As project engineer, you will be a part of plan production, design administration and assist with project financials and client interactions when requested. You will also be expected to work with the project manager in all aspects of municipal projects, including project scoping and proposals, conceptual design, site layouts, storm water analysis and design, grading and utility design.

Key Responsibilities

• Serves as lead design engineer on assigned projects.
• Supervises engineering support personnel on assigned projects.
• Prepares and monitors budgets and schedules for all assigned projects.
• Tracks and reports on progress and performance for all assigned projects and initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Assists Project Manager in the overall supervision and control of project activities.
• Maintains current project status summaries for all assigned projects and keeps Project Manager fully informed about the status of all assigned projects.
• When directed by the Project Manager, assists in arranging for
• and supervises “outside services”.
• When directed by the Project Manager, assists in planning with and maintaining liaison with regulatory agencies.
• Maintains complete files and records for all assigned projects.
• Assists in arranging and conducting regular project review and reporting meetings.
• Assures that all the firm’s QA/QC procedures are followed and met.
• Assists Project Manager in arranging and conducting a final review and critique for all assigned projects.

Requirements

• BS Civil Engineering
• 5 years’ experience
• Prefer Professional Engineer Licensure, State of Texas
