RPMStaffing Professionals is Hiring a Food Manufacturing General Manager (DH) Near Mount Pleasant, TX

Job Description:
The Food Production General Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the facility to ensure production & packing is timely, and high quality, control labor costs, and review & develop processes for improvement. Must have a proven history of meeting production targets.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Direct managers & supervisors to ensure efficient daily operations of the harvesting, packing, & shipping/warehouse.
  • Indirectly supervises daily operations of the greenhouses, seeding & transplanting areas.
  • Accountable for operating expenses, quality control, & daily operation of the facility. (production, planning, reporting, facility performance, labor management, balancing inputs, throughput & demand, & facility maintenance).
  • Work with the SVP of Sales, VP of Operations, & Head Grower to assure sales forecasts are met.
  • Work with Supply Chain Director to assure raw materials are available for facility operations & sales, along with maintaining vendor relationships. support team on sales to review current and future needs.
  • Work with Senior Food Safety Manager to assure optimal quality & food safety through sanitation &testing.
  • Maximize the efficiency of packing & delivering high-quality produce.
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe facility & operation.
  • Oversee large projects & interpreting performance reports.
  • Enforce company policies & procedures.
  • Provide support & continued education for employees.
  • Develop strategic plans, budgets & policies to strengthen & support company financial goals.
  • Implement changes to facility operations, manufacturing methods, facility layouts, capital equipment, & procedures that result in cost reductions.
  • Coordinate with the support team for new product introductions as well as new product manufacturing processes or technologies.
  • Work closely with Business Development, Quality, & Scheduling for the planning of new products & processing.
  • Analyze, recommend, & justify the purchase of capital equipment to support the company’s strategic direction & changing technology needs.
  • Identify & implement manufacturing methods & organization structure to improve the efficiencies of material flow & meet the needs of customers.
  • Along with HR, recruit, develop, coach, & mentor employees with the aim of producing qualified, productive, & satisfied personnel that can keep up with changing technologies & customer needs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Manage multiple priorities which include matching staff to equipment to ensure product quality standards & production schedules are met.
  • Apply management practices & team development techniques which include the ability to motivate staff, deal with difficult employee issues & maintain confidentiality.
  • Effectively communicate, in verbal & written form, with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of GAP, GMP, GFSI, SQF, and Food quality processes & procedures.
  • Develop & manage budget, including cost accounting & initiate costing changes.
  • Develop & implement safety standards & ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop & implement quality standards, procedures, specifications, & corrective actions.
  • Read, interpret, apply, & communicate technical information, including drawings & specifications.
  • Knowledge of equipment & production processes.
  • Excellent mathematical reasoning, memorization, oral comprehension, spatial orientation, & written comprehension.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, manufacturing management, or business is strongly preferred.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience with production activities in a manufacturing environment, food-grade preferred or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • 5 years of experience in people management.
Environment:
  • Subject to pressure for multiple calls, inquiries, & interruptions.
  • Hearing protection is needed.
  • Raising or lowering objects weighing no more than 10 - 20 pounds, from one level to another.
  • Remaining in long periods or continuous sitting at times.
  • Bending & stooping as needed.
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas through verbal communication.
  • Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less.
