Procurement Forester

Reporting To: Corrigan Forest Manager
Description
The procurement forester is responsible for ensuring a reliable supply of raw materials is procured in a cost-effective manner at an oriented strand board (OSB) manufacturing facility.
- Assisting with the purchase or sale of mill residuals and conducting wood quality checks in the plant and at the scales
- Performing vendor audits to ensure contract compliance and providing in-woods guidance to vendors ensuring product quality
- Providing concise and timely communication to customers and mill personnel
- Must be capable of performing all procurement functions in the procurement manager’s absence
Job Qualifications
Attention to detail, creative thinking, and communication skills are vital for success in this role.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in forestry
- Outstanding safety record in all aspects of previous employment
- Must demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in all forestry activities, including timber-sales administration, timber-sales inspections, merchandising, and acquisition/inventory cruising and mapping
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and ArcGIS software
