Royal White Cement is Hiring a Terminal Operator Near Houston, TX

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Terminal Operator to join our team. As a Terminal Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment and systems at our terminal facility. This is a physically demanding role that requires strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

To effectively coordinate the daily operation of the production ensuring all environmental, safety, quality, and production targets are being met.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Adhere to safety policies, programs, procedures.

· Report and investigate accidents.

  • Follow and promote all safety policies, including but not limited to risk assessments before starting tasks.
  • Perform only trained and authorized activities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain terminal quality control program
  • Operate unloading equipment to unload bulk cement from vessel, and/or trucks into storage area.
  • Verify accuracy of paperwork for incoming/outgoing shipments.
  • Operate and monitor all terminal equipment.
  • Interpret and understand readings on equipment instrumentation panels.
  • Inspect equipment assigned to him/her each shift in accordance with preventive maintenance program.
  • Participate in formal and on-the job training programs to acquire/broaden both technical and non-technical job skills; participate in cross training activities.
  • Interact with team members of terminal on a regular basis to gather or communicate information and proactively solve problems.
  • Work includes manual labor with necessary tools as required or assigned.
  • Ability to drive and operate various mobile equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, forklifts, bobcat, hi-reach, and other light industrial equipment required.
  • Lead, track and execute preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of the terminal.
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns of equipment; perform and assisting mayor repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintains and cleans-up loading areas, silos, hoppers, and yard area.

· Responsible for the operation of the front-end loader to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage areas, to feed conveyors, and to load trucks.

· Safely operate loader, forklift, and other motorized material handling equipment.

· Communicates with and cooperates with drivers and customers.

· Participates in making sure the quality and quantity of raw materials meets establish standards.

· Fills-up fuel and cleans the equipment as needed.

· Meet or exceed company safety standards.

· Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.

Physical requirements:

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
  • Heavy Work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions and tolerate extreme temperatures.
  • Frequently required to: walk and climb, walk long distances and perform clean-up of spilled materials.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment

· Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls

· Must pass DOT physical to include back x-ray, hearing test and drug/alcohol screen

Qualifications:

· Experience in cement distribution, construction, or similar industry preferred

· Minimum 1 year of counter-balance forklift operating experience (Recommended)

· Comfortable with working in a dusty environment

· Attention to detail

· High school preferred

· Bilingual a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
