The Opportunity :

Join our esteemed faculty for the 2024-2025 school year as a full-time Religion Teacher for Middle School Grades 6, 7, and 8.

This is a permanent, salaried position offering competitive compensation and benefits. We seek a passionate educator dedicated to fostering academic achievement, character development, and spiritual growth in our students.

Position Overview :

As a Middle School Religion Teacher at Royal Palm Academy, you will serve as an integral part of our students' spiritual education and growth.

You will teach orthodox Catholic religion and theology, ensuring students understand and appreciate their faith. Additionally, you will coordinate and participate in school Mass and Adoration services, train altar servers, and provide assistance to K-5 teachers with their religion curriculum.

Key Responsibilities :

• Embrace and uphold the mission, philosophy, and values of Royal Palm Academy.
• Teach faithful and orthodox Catholic religion and theology to middle school students.
• Serve as the school’s Religious Coordinator for Mass and Adoration, fulfilling duties similar to a Sacristan role.
• Train and manage student altar servers for school Mass.
• Support and mentor K-5 teachers in delivering the religion curriculum.
• Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and spiritually enriching classroom environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and spiritual backgrounds of students.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and school administration to support student spiritual growth and academic progress.
• Participate in ongoing professional development related to education and theological studies.

Qualifications :

• Must be a practicing, baptized, and confirmed Catholic.
• Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Education, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience teaching in a K-8 Catholic school setting.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment.
• Proficient in utilizing technology to enhance educational and spiritual instruction.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Additional certifications or studies in Catholic theology or religious education.
• Experience in sacramental preparation and liturgical planning.

Physical and Other Demands :

• Ability to perform various classroom management tasks including standing, moving around the classroom, and occasionally lifting objects up to 20 pounds.
• Must be able to directly supervise students on the playground and fields, in uneven and unpaved surfaces, and provide immediate attention and assistance to children when necessary.
• Capacity to handle the emotional and physical stamina required to manage middle school-aged children in an educational setting.
