Rover.com is Hiring a Senior Business Program Manager, Customer Retention Near Seattle, WA

Who we are:
Want to make an impact? Join our pack and come work (and play!) with us.
We believe everyone deserves the unconditional love of a pet—and at Rover, our mission is to make it easier to experience that love. Founded in 2011, the Rover app and website connect dog and cat parents with loving pet sitters and dog walkers in neighborhoods across the US, Canada, and Europe. We empower our community of trusted pet sitters and dog walkers to run their own pet care businesses on Rover with the tools and security of a global company to back them.
Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, we work closely with our teams in Barcelona, London, San Antonio, Spokane and remote locations. We’ve got a reputation for being a great place to work, having been named among the 100 Best Companies to Work For in Seattle Business Magazine and Washington’s Best Workplaces in the Puget Sound Business Journal. We're an agile, fast-growing company, and our leadership comes from some of the world's most respected tech companies.
At Rover, our furry coworkers are just as important as our human ones—and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Along with making the joys of pet parenthood more accessible, we’re committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming community of pet people—and that starts with our employees.
Who we are looking for:
Rover’s Marketplace Product & Data Science group is responsible for matching pet parents with care providers and retaining customers on the Rover platform. As the Senior Business Program Manager of Customer Retention, we are looking for someone who can effectively drive forward our customer retention program globally. You will need to have a strong understanding of the drivers of booking and rebooking on platform. You will need to be able to partner with a broad cross-functional group, including data science, product, operations, UX, and marketing, to evolve and quickly execute our program to ensure that customers book and remain active on Rover. This is a quantitative-oriented role, so effectiveness at interacting with operational, marketing and marketplace data is a must, and you should be comfortable making data-driven decisions in a fast-moving environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the enforcement of Rover’s policy requiring that customers initiating business through Rover’s marketplace complete their transactions on the platform. Partner with data science, operations, product, and content strategy to execute our enforcement program and coordinate dependencies.
  • Evaluate, test, and scale new data signals and operational processes to continuously improve the program.
  • Develop business cases for resourcing and investment aimed at furthering customer retention.
  • Lead updates to community guidelines and customer facing content explaining Rover’s policies and platform functionality.
  • Own program outcomes, monitoring ongoing performance by tracking key metrics, customer feedback, and collaborating with data science to deeply understand customer behavior.

Your Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, can align cross-functional goals across the organization to support OKRs.
  • Able to lead cross-functional efforts, partnering effectively with operations, UX, marketing, legal, data science, and product/tech teams.
  • Independently drives successful project outcomes, maintaining a focus on impact. Able to quickly eliminate roadblocks to keep projects on track with a high-degree of independence, while maintaining a positive collaborative environment with stakeholders and peers.
  • Strong awareness of pace vs. precision considerations. Identifies when to tread cautiously and moves quickly whenever possible.
  • Takes on problems with a high degree of complexity and/or ambiguity and introduces elegant solutions.
  • Able to develop and communicate strong business cases for investments, process changes, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and relies upon data-driven decision-making.
  • Discerns impact and consequence of decisions and articulates multiple options for solving a problem using trade-off analysis and supporting data.
  • Proficient in data analysis using basic and more advanced functions in spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with SQL a plus; or must become proficient in intermediate SQL query writing (joins & sub-queries).

Benefits of working at Rover:

  • Competitive compensation.
  • 401k Match.
  • Company Equity.
  • Flexible PTO.
  • Competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Commuter benefits.
  • Bring your dog to work (and unlimited puppy time).
  • Pet benefits, including $1000 toward adopting your first dog or cat.
  • Stocked fridges, coffee, soda, and lots of treats (for humans and dogs) and free catered lunches semi-monthly.
  • Regular team activities, including happy hours, snow tubing, game nights, and more (currently performed virtually due to Covid19).
  • Due to COVID-19, Rover Employees are not required to be in office until mid 2022 at the earliest with a flexible work from home policy.
