Summary of Qualifications
Diagnose heavy commercial customer and large commercial projects plumbing and sewer and drain problems, provide a series of solutions and help customer select their choice(s) and then perform repairs and / or cleaning. Previous plumbing experience and sales experience is required. Must hold a plumbing license or 3 years of experience. At times must be able to lift up to 150 lbs. or ask for assistance. Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving history to operate the company vehicle. Mechanical abilities and aptitude are needed to operate equipment. Must set up work areas and keep the work space clean and orderly. Must represent the company professionally at all times with a positive and helpful mindset. Required to handle money, receipts and company property.
Heavy residential plumbing includes gas and waterline repairs and water heater installation. Major projects to be sold (such floor break-ups, excavations, replumb whole homes, stack repairs).
Level of Work
At its best the position requires a high-level selling. Plumbing repairs and complex diagnostics in structures from large commercial businesses down to small residential homes.
Knowledge of potable water supply and pressure. Knowledge of sewer and storm water and drain vent systems.
Job Dimensions
After completing training, able to work independently in their own company vehicle. Operate equipment in a safe manner. Keep truck well maintained, including washing the outside and cleaning the inside of the truck to meet the company standards. Must represent the company in the professional attire and use all safety equipment needed to perform the tasks of the job. Must keep the company equipment clean and safe and report to the Manager any equipment needing repaired immediately.
Essential Job Functions
The trained Technicians go to the customers home to sell jobs and complete repairs. They need to complete the repairs in a timely manner. Thoroughly explain the details of the work and communicate to the customer what the services are being performed. All work completed in the must provide a benefit to the customer. Technician is cost consciousness, able to develop a service plan and price business that is fair for the customer and makes a profit for the technician and the company.
Working Conditions
Typically working in outside weather condition. Often working inside place of business. Often basements and crawl spaces. May be required to lift heavy objects in bad angels. May work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education/License Requirements
A valid driver’s license required with a good driving history. A plumbing license is preferred or 3 years of experience. CDL is also a benefit, but seldom mandatory.
