Rosemill Hammond is Hiring a Nurse Manager Near Hammond, LA

JOB TITLE: Nurse Manager
REPORTS TO: Administrator and DON
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
JOB OVERVIEW: The Nurse Manager assumes authority, responsibility and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in the facility, under the direction of the DON. In collaboration with the Administrator and the DON, allocates departments resources in an efficient and economic manner to enable each patient to attain or maintain the highest practical, physical, mental and psychosocial wellbeing. Collaborates with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, etc., to develop, support and coordinate patient care, related administrative functions and to represent the interest of the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
a. Implements all legal and regulatory agency requirements.
b. Ensures staff compliance with the hospital?s mission/vision/value and code of conduct statements.
c. Ensures services are provided in a timely manner and meets patient needs.
d. Implements and assures orientation of contractual help.
e. Monitors the care of all patients in the hospital to ensure care is carried out as ordered.
f. Conducts med passes to ensure patients are receiving medications appropriately.
g. Monitoring CNA daily work schedule to ensure all assigned job duties are performed consistently.
h. Provide ongoing education to staff and design orientation for new staff members based on experience.
i. Ensure medical record documentation is correct on a daily basis.
j. Rounding on all patients during the shift to ensure care is being carried out as assigned.
k. Inspects patient rooms for cleanliness and comfort.
l. Accompany physicians on rounds and keeps informed of special orders concerning patients.
m. Assists in the coordinating and integration of all hospital services.
n. Ensures staff performance evaluations are given in a timely manner.
o. Maintains an ?open door? policy with all employees.
p. Maintains ongoing communication to staff regarding job performance.
q. Provides in-service/continuing education as appropriate.
r. Prepares and maintains facility QI reports as required.
s. Implements new initiatives and processes and ensures staff compliance.
t. Collaborates with Medical Directors to ensure communication, coordination and input into medical decisions about the unit.
u. Ensures that staff participates in interdepartmental activities to improve hospital performance and clinical care.
v. Ensures return of rental equipment in a timely manner.
w. Demonstrates competency in the following areas: Duties and Responsibilities.
x. Participates in Quality Improvement activities to continuously and systematically assess and improve internal processes, activities and patient care as described in patient care plan for improving performance.
y. Facilitates the implementation and ongoing monitoring of hospital based Quality Improvement contributions.
z. Communicates Q.I.?s effectiveness or lack of to Administration.aa. Identifies problematic situations and routes issues appropriately to achieve resolution.
bb. Coordinates the delivery of clinical care.
cc. Participates in weekly staffing.
dd. Investigate and assist with the resolution of patient complaints.
ee. Ensures Charge nurses utilize and upkeep of the Charge Nurse Binder.
ff. Ensure walking rounds are conducted on each shift.
gg. Ensure all equipment logs are completed as appropriate.
hh. Ensure that all medical supply PAR levels are maintained.
ii. Ensure all ordered equipment is received in a timely manner.
jj. Assist charge nurse with new admits as needed.
kk. Follows United Medical Hospitals' Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct as evidenced through practice, performance, and attendance of annual review programs/in-services.
ll. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the organization.
