ROSE STATE COLLEGE ANNOUNCES AN OPENING IN WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

POSITION: Workforce Development Programs Specialist

Description of Duties: The Workforce Development Programs Specialist ensures that programs are aligned with the college's mission and goals, and that they meet the needs of the community and local employers. Below are some typical job responsibilities and qualifications for this position: Exercise independence in the performance of responsibilities. Provide direct support to all branches of Workforce Development (WFD) as needed. Establish and monitor day-to-day operations for departmental activities to include, but not be limited to, initiatives, events, shared calendars and other accounts, meetings, logistics, mail, billing, registrations, administration, staff availability and training, resources, public relations, maintenance trouble calls, supplies, social media, and general knowledge for Rose State Workforce Development. Monitor inter-departmental processes and activities for consistency with established Rose State College policies and values to include ethical, safety, and personal conduct requirements. Assist in all planning of events and programs; monitor and manage flow of Workforce Development projects, programs, initiatives, and efforts at large and as needed. Analyze and evaluate the quality of performance and methods of operation. This includes developing surveys, questionnaires, and other forms of data collection, keeping track of project progress and reporting, creating and maintaining databases, and promoting products, services, and content on social media while preserving Rose State College's brand image. Develop, implement, and evaluate programs to meet the needs of students, employers, and the community; manage program budgets, including grant funding, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements. Assist with the office's inventory, management, receiving, and traveling needs. Manage and delegate answering calls, set-up out-of-office recordings, complete registrations, disseminate messages and direct callers to appropriate areas/departments; anticipate needs and ensure accuracy of office/program supplies; solicit staff on a recurring basis to ensure future needs. Perform oversight and assist employees in proper records management of all physical and electronic office correspondence to include, but not be limited to, filing, scanning, copying, safeguarding, encryption, and destruction of sensitive materials. Coordinate travel requests/arrangements, IT/Maintenance requests, Class coordination/set-up, and transcribe meeting minutes in a timely and accurate basis. Collaborate and assist with Micro-credential programs and reporting. Conducts outreach and marketing efforts to increase industry and community engagement; fosters positive relationships with internal and external customers; develop and review marketing, instructional, or training materials to distribute to internal and external customers. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure that programs remain relevant and effective. Regular attendance and excellent customer service are essential functions of this position. Performs other related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree or equivalent and three (3) years office related experience. Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel). Ability to learn basic purchase order and registration processing. Light lifting up to 30 lbs and light carrying up to 30 lbs required. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping.

Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Five years office related experience to include the supervision of others. Experience in program development and management, preferably in an educational or workforce development context. Demonstrated success in building partnerships with employers and community organizations. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Familiarity with local and state educational policies and programs.
