Yes Job Type Part-Time Working Hours Position Summary Reporting to the Director for International Students and Global Scholar Services, the PT Coordinator for ELS is responsible for serving the needs for international and domestic students struggling with academics as non-native English language speakers.
The position will primarily consist of 1 : 1 meetings with students either those who request assistance or who are flagged by instructors through an alert system as well as occasional programming and activities.
The Coordinator will work closely with the Learning Commons and other academic resources available to students seeking academic support.
The Coordinator must have a genuine interest and knowledge in English as a Second Language pedagogy and a desire to help students succeed.
This position will require collaboration with the other Office of International Programs staff, International Admissions, the Learning Commons, and individual Academic Departments & Faculty.
There are two vacancies for this position one based at the Chicago campus and one at the Schaumburg campus. The Coordinator will be expected to be in-person on their respective campus during their scheduled 20 hours.

Tutoring students who make appointments through Navigate360. Students will be asked to bring specific assignments, English language concepts, or academic barriers to these hour-long meetings.
They will be able to book 30-min or 1-hour sessions with the Coordinator
We are seeking to provide wraparound support to students, which means working with them on accessing other resources, as needed, and partnering with the Learning Commons
Reaching out to and scheduling appointments with students who are identified by their instructors as struggling with English language concepts.
Instructors are prompted at 4 and 8 weeks to set an ELS Alert for students. When an alert is generated, the Coordinator will reach out to the instructor to get more information and then work directly with the student
