The teacher is also responsible for the supervision of classroom staff and ongoing parent contact.Performance and Responsibilities:1. Design and carryout developmentally appropriate motivating curriculum/programming as warranted by IEP goals/MA curriculum framework2. Guide classroom staff in implementing goals of children3. Provide direct individual and/or group instruction4 Provide trans-disciplinary programming through consultation with professional and therapeutic staff5. Conduct thorough educational evaluations necessary for quarterly progress reports, annual assessment and re-evaluations6. When scheduled, prepare MCAS alternate assessment on students assigned7. Provide assistance in feeding, toileting, dressing skills and ADLs8. Implement social skills training program9. Utilize various techniques to provide sensory diets for students10. Initiate and support the use of assistive technology to provide access11. Daily maintenance of supplies, equipment, and departmental space12. Organize daily schedule to meet caseload requirements and uses indirect time appropriately13. Consult with staff in other discipline areas to improve programming14. Facilitate ongoing parent contact and encourage family involvement15. Develop appropriate individual IEP consistent with training in a timely way
