The Accounting Manager oversees the accounting department functions with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reporting. The Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining and implementing proper procedures throughout the department as directed by the Chief Financial Officer. The Accounting Manager will work in a collaborative environment across various departments, and assist and complete projects, as necessary, from the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. A successful Accounting Manager will provide the highest level of accounting to support all members, guests and other departments as needed.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate, organize and oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer.
• Prepare and/or review daily, weekly and monthly reports in accordance with reporting calendars, ensuring that all reports are updated on a timely basis.
• Monitor and/or participate in inventories and ensure accurate reporting.
• Manage account receivable/cash receipts process.
• Maintain control over information posted to general ledger, reconciliation of general ledger account balances and ensure all financial transactions are reported in accordance with internal controls and policies.
• Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses.
• Assist in preparing forecasts, projections, and monthly financial statement analyses.
• Ensure compliance with all state, federal and local tax laws, and timely payment thereof.
• Assist in external audits and annual tax return preparation.
• Assist with and complete ad hoc projects as assigned by Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and/or General Manager.
• Schedule flexibility to complete all month-end tasks and be able to prioritize and adapt to accomplish all responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to work cooperatively with others.

• Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and provide deliverables under the pressure of deadlines.
• Knowledgeable of accounting systems and software, and MS Excel.
• Highly adept at spreadsheet formulation.
• Proficiency in windows-based computer programs to include e-mail, internet and word processing applications.
• 5-10 years accounting and previous management experience required. Hospitality finance experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree with emphasis in accounting, finance or related field required.
