ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

• Review and maintain any required logs, check sheets, inspection sheets, and work orders.
• Obtain and ensure that the correct roll stock or any other material is being used at all times and located by machinery.
• Positions all rolls of material on unwinder and thread film through the machine.
• Performs Thermoforming Machinery start-ups and shut downs.
• Ability to perform material jams/clearing in machinery.
• Monitors machines for mechanical problems by listening for unusual noises and visually checking gears, hoses, gauges, materials, etc.
• Lift heavy objects by hand or use hand pallet jack and cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators.
• Immediately take corrective action for any machine stoppage; notify Lead or Supervisor and request maintenance assistance in the event of serious problems with machinery of parts and assist in problem solving if other personnel are required.
• Recognizes and corrects safety hazards as they are identified.
• Maintain assigned lines in a clean and orderly condition; follow all safety policies and procedures including lockout/tag out, GMP practices to meet company standards.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing Events as required.
• Other duties as assigned
Additional Packing duties if applicable:
• Gather packaging supplies needed for the job and build carton boxes for assigned line.
• Inspect products for functional and major/minor defects as defined by customer specifications.
• Compare shape, texture, or grade of product or material with sample to verify that it conforms to standards.
• Sort and pack finished product into bags, carton or other containers according to customer specifications.
• Stack finished cartons on skids in proper pattern.
• Mechanical abilities and knowledge of the thermoforming machine operation
• Capable of lifting an average of 75 lbs.
• Capable of solving problems and making quick decisions
• Understanding of safety precaution
• Knowledge of raw materials, quality control, cost and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of good
• Strong skills in interacting and directing the work of others
• Ability to look at data and configure any problems that may approach
• Excellent organization, communication, and comprehensive skills
• Adequate math skills
• Capable of seeing detail at a close range
• Ability to be on feet the majority of the work day
