Responsibilities:

The Procurement Manager will lead procurement with a strategic and innovative approach, managing end-to-end sourcing processes, developing and executing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and overseeing key suppliers. They will ensure compliance with regulations and company policies while minimizing resource use and maximizing profitability. The role requires analytical thinking and the ability to lead cross-company initiatives. Additionally, they will develop strategic sourcing to leverage spending, increase value, and reduce administrative tasks, managing diverse processes to provide efficient, quality procurement services.

What you will do:

• Plans, directs, and leads procurement activities for the overall organization.
• Develops long-term procurement strategies with internal customers for maximizing service delivery and positive financial impacts.
• Coordinates activities with the procurement groups across business units purchasing activities.
• Provides leadership and support to manage the performance and talent development of procurement staff.
• Leads the company efforts in planning, conducting, and influencing of procurement activities.
• Guides development of procurement and purchasing policies and procedures that include vendor base management, developing the appropriate acquisition process based on internal customer developed specifications, e.g., request for proposal (RFP), request for qualification (RFQ) and invitation for bid (IFB), negotiations and contract development.
• Assist in the evaluation and qualification of equipment/material vendors and professional service providers.
• Coordinates with legal counsel reviewing contracts utilizing Contracts 365.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
• Negotiate commercial terms and conditions with equipment/material vendors and professional service providers.
• Process requisitions and prepare purchase orders for materials and equipment.
• Continually evaluates vendor base for consistently delivering high quality goods and services.
• Manages and upholds company-wide ISO related purchasing requirements.
• Improve, develop, implement, and train on policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement a rigorous vendor management program to ensure they are consistently delivering high quality goods and services and produce KPI’s to evaluate vendor performance.

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Eight to ten years procurement and purchasing experience, with at least five of those years in a management role.
• Transportation experience preferred.
• Demonstrable results achieving world class benchmarks in cost management and cost reduction.
