POSITION SUMMARY:
Rogers State University is accepting applications for a Programmer Analyst in the department of Administrative Computing Services. The Analyst will have primary responsibility for programming support of administrative applications using a variety of programming languages, reporting tools, utilities and delivery platforms. The Analyst will maintain in-depth knowledge of the software functionality and will coordinate aspects of planning, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of existing or new functionality related to the university’s administrative software and integrated third-party systems.
PRIMARY DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Support users of administrative applications which include training personnel on the use of various software applications, assisting with projects requiring more technical expertise and maintaining product knowledge;
  • Conduct programming tasks to fulfill data manipulation requests, extract data from multiple databases, collaborate with internal and external parties as needed;
  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance and enhancements of tools and processes to support all user groups;
  • Provide assistance testing upgrades and patches in test and production environments;
  • Coordinate interfaces between administrative systems and third-party programs;
  • Provide troubleshooting support for escalated application problems that cannot be resolved at a lower level;
  • Develop processes using SSRS, SSIS and other data integration tools;
  • Use programming skills to write complex stored procedures, views, queries, user defined functions and common table expressions;
  • Design software routines, data retrieval, and management systems to meet user needs or modify existing systems;
  • Complete ad hoc projects to support operations and end user requests;
  • Establish and maintain documentation to support new systems and processes;
  • Contribute to the overall success of the department by providing backup support and performing other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Advanced level understanding of programming languages, syntax structures and relational database management necessary to organize, manipulate and analyze data from numerous sources utilizing complex SQL queries;
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines;
  • Analytical and design skills, including logic, problem diagnostics and problem solving;
  • Expertise in Microsoft Product Suite including Power BI and Visual Studio;
  • Competent in the use of HTML/CSS, XML concepts and design;
  • Familiarity with ERP software, specifically Jenzabar and Salesforce;
  • Ability to produce careful and detail-oriented work;
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or closely related area
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2 years in higher education setting;
  • Experience with Salesforce, Jenzabar or other administrative software platforms is highly desirable;
  • Working knowledge of Web-specific technologies and systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Sit for prolonged periods;
  • Use of a computer;
  • Standard office work environment.

HOURS: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
