A non-profit organization is seeking to hire a Staff Accountant. Ideally looking for a candidate who has Sage Intaact experience, has a background handling fund accounting, and has experience with grants accounting. Non-profit accounting experience is required. Looking for a self-starter.

Responsibilities:
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial transactions
- Assist with financial management tasks, including budgeting and forecasting
- Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts and perform account reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information
- Support the preparation of tax returns and other compliance requirements
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior accounting staff

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of debits, credits, and general ledger accounting principles
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies
- Knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation techniques
- Familiarity with private equity or investment accounting is a plus
- Understanding of wills, trusts, and estate law is a plus
