This position works closely with R&D, QC, Production, Stores and Marketing. The Color Lab Manager is responsible for all color-related activity as it relates to Datacolor databases used for in-store tinting, color systems used at the store level and color formulations used for production batches and R&D projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Creates and Maintains Datacolor databases used at the store level.
Troubleshoots and solves Datacolor Databases issues.
Completes any necessary MTO color matches for production batches.
Provides support at the store level including troubleshooting database problems and providing training if needed.
Supports formula development including color matching and approval of color matches.
Provides support to Manufacturing and Quality Control as it pertains to in-plant tinting.
Provides support to the sales staff as it pertains to any tinted formulation work.
Provides written reports as specified by the Lab Manager.
Maintains equipment, panels and supplies as it relates to the color-matching lab.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in science related field. Industry experience related directly to color services may be considered as an alternative to a degree.
5 years’ experience in color development and color matching.
High degree of color acuity.
Color computer program literacy, Datacolor software experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Color matching software and others as required.
Written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
Creative thinker, self-motivated and self-starting.
