ROCKY MTN UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH is Hiring an Associate Director/Director of Institutional Research Near Provo, UT

Position Purpose
Works directly with University administration to generate and report data to support institutional research and assessment, program review, and academic accreditation in alignment with data governance guidelines. Responsible for thorough, accurate, and timely reporting of institutional data to ensure compliance with institutional assessment and external data reporting mandates.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Data extraction from institutional repositories and transactional systems; analysis, curation, and reporting via the online reporting portal or requested formats by institutional or external stakeholders;
  • Supports assessment, program review, and institutional/professional accreditation of academic programs using data from various sources (SIS, ODW, HR, surveys);
  • Institutional keyholder for IPEDS data reporting, including coordination and timely submission of data for all mandated reporting periods;
  • Serves on institutional assessment, data governance, and ad hoc committees;
  • Collaborates with institutional stakeholders to promote data-informed decision-making across all operational domains to ensure institutional mission fulfillment
  • Develops and maintains accurate policies and procedures related to institutional research, assessment, strategic planning, and ensures compliance with data security and privacy (FERPA)
  • Provides effective supervision, management, and professional development to office staff (currently one analyst)
  • Closely collaborates with IE Office staff, and institutional stakeholders (e.g., Registrar’s, IT); represents IE Office when required.

WORKING REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree required; (Master’s/Doctorate degree preferred) from an accredited institution, preferably in data management/analysis, data science, BI reporting/analytics, , or statistics,


Computer Knowledge:

Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and/or Google Workspace, and SQL, Preferred: Anthology (SIS), Power BI (Azure Analytics), R, Python, SPSS, Salesforce, Qualtrics, Watermark assessment tools or similar


Experience Required:

Minimum of three to five years’ experience in data management, analysis, curation, and reporting (preferably in higher education).Preferred: Experience with data warehouse development (ETLs), data governance, institutional accreditation standards (NWCCU)


Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to extract, analyze, interpret, and present data.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to organize and present findings effectively.
Demonstrated proficiency in required computer knowledge and experience (see above), Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects, knowledge of data privacy laws (FERPA), professional integrity (e.g., AIR code of ethics), and experience working with individuals across all levels of the organization
