Description

Technician will report directly to the Service Advisors and/or Event Coordinators. The Technician will have above entry level skills under supervision of the Branch Manager and Lead Technician. Technician will be required to support Rocky Mountain Truck Centers policies and procedures. Understanding service writers and customers are an essential skill that must be developed and maintained as a Technician.
To maintain integrity and training consistency the Technician will follow a strict chain of command. The Lead Technician will report to the BM directly for guidance and issues. Upon the BM being out of the area or unavailable will report to the Assistant Manager. A Lead Technician must get permission to contact any other VP, CFO, HR about issues that concern other employees or customers. Following proper chain of command will ensure that the BM is fully aware of any issues, concerns or technical support the shop and staff needs.

Duties:

  • Maintain the Rocky Mountain Promise in everything you do.
  • Help other technicians.
  • Always maintain a for profit mind set, keeping safety and the customer in mind, always.
  • Ensures communication with the service writers is maintained and is happening in a timely manner.
  • Follow the Rocky Mountain Truck Centers policies
  • Maintain a professional image and attitude always
  • Follow Rocky Mountain Truck Centers safety policies
  • Ensure Productivity and efficiency goals are met
  • Perform all Pin-Point inspections adding Quick Pic for estimating and selling
  • Warrantable items that come backs may result in chargeback in labor hours equivalent to paid hours wages

Qualifications


Requirements:
Level A Technician - High. A minimum of 10 years of experience in diagnosing and repairing light, medium and heavy-duty trucks.
Must have the ability to perform the following:

  • Engine diagnostics
  • Internal engine repair
  • Advanced electrical
  • Regeneration
  • DPF troubleshooting and repair
  • Transmission and driveline internal repairs
  • Differential internal repairs
  • Gear Box overhauls
  • Steering and suspension, alignment
  • ECM flashing
  • DTC repair • Accurately document work performed on repair orders
  • The skill set listed above is required to successfully perform the duties of this position and necessitate an individual with the capacity to multitask under tight deadlines involving periodic stress.
  • Must be able to maintain a professional image and personal interaction with employees and customers.
  • Maintain an ethical approach to being profitable, sell the customer what they need.
  • Must maintain a clean driver’s license and criminal record.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays with no issues
  • Must have the ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Must demonstrate an ability to stay calm and fair in heated conversations
  • Maintain tools to perform job properly. Snap-On KRL 3000 or larger or equivalent
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow policy, train and teach other employees
  • Must hold 10 ASE Certification in heavy truck or equivalent in OEM Training
