Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design is Hiring an Instructional Designer Near Lakewood, CO

RMCAD Instructional Designer - On Campus or Online
Target Salary: $55,000-$65,000
Rocky Mountain College of Art Design (RMCAD) seeks qualified applicants for an Instruction Designer for the Academic Affairs Department. RMCAD is a private college certified by HLC and NASAD offering degrees in fine and applied arts. The Instructional Designer (ID) is responsible for the management of multiple projects including design, production, and testing of new courses, course revisions, and faculty/staff trainings. The ID collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Multimedia Experts and Student ADA Services to develop course materials that are original, functional, intuitive, informative, and consistent with sound instructional design principles and the college brand standards. The Instructional Designer works directly with SMEs to identify learning outcomes, quality and instructional relevance of written materials, design learning activities and assessments as they relate to learning outcomes, and to assist SMEs with best practices for designing online courses. Candidates need strong skills in Adobe CC, must be comfortable working in various LMS/CMS platforms, have excellent attention to detail, have taught successfully online at the college level, and have strong project management experience combined with extensive knowledge of instructional design methodologies.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing instructional design methodologies as a Course Designer, Instructional Designer, Instructional/Educational Technologist or similar job title.
  • A minimum of 1-year experience working with Subject Matter Experts to design and develop online courses.
  • A minimum of 1-year experience working in either Learning Management or Content Management systems.
  • A minimum of 1-year experience utilizing Adobe CC or other relevant platforms to create or modify graphical elements for learning objects.
  • A minimum of 1-year experience in assessment of demonstrated student learning and course-level assessment of course quality.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Experience creating multimedia learning objects is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer service and the ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, administrators, students and colleagues regarding course content and or curriculum.
  • Strong understanding of copyright and proper citation.
  • Strong creative and design skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Suite and Project Management Tools (i.e., Kanbanchi, Asana).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong copy editing, writing and proofreading skills.
Education
  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Media/Technology, InstructionalTechnology preferred.
  • Master's degree in related field accepted with at least 2 years of experience in instructional design field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
