Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Procurement and Business Operations will be responsible for the oversight and alliance management of providers of manufacturing materials, logistics services, lab supplies, research consumables, facilities services and CAPEX. The role will drive outsourcing strategies, vendor evaluation, contract negotiation and financial management ensuring effective planning and contracting of external resources for Rocket.

Responsibilities

• Drive the vendor oversight activities with external vendors including but not limited to, manufacturing materials, lab supplies, equipment manufacturers, logistics providers.
• Lead the Request for Proposals (RFPs) and the vendor selection process in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Facilities /Engineering, Legal, Finance, Quality Assurance, and other departments as appropriate to ensure that outsourcing and contracting needs are met and managed proactively.
• Negotiate and maintain contracts, including vendor and site CDAs, MSAs, supply agreements, work orders for external service providers, consulting agreements and specialty vendor contracts.
• Manage vendor governance activities as tracking and reporting of KPIs, budget, spending trends and quality measures for assigned vendors.
• Support project teams in the resolution of performance issues with the vendors.
• Provide analytical support as spend analysis and budget forecasts to ensure accurate TechOps budgets are developed consistently across the R&D programs.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Life Sciences or Engineering.
• Advanced degree (PhD or MBA) is a plus.
• 10 years of experience with Vendor Management, Alliance Management, and/or Strategic Sourcing is required.
• Experience with Technical Operations in a Pharmaceutical company or a CRO/CDMO.
• Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to details.
• Ability to build credible relationships and excellent interpersonal skills.
