QUALITY INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR

This role is within our Quality Assurance team and will ensure hardware received and produced in the Rocket Lab Long Beach facility conforms to engineering requirements through efficient and effective detection methods. In this role you will help prevent faulty hardware from progressing in the manufacturing process and support root cause mitigation and elimination of failure modes. You will support the Quality Manager and Production organization, with deliverables required for internal leadership, board of directors, and investors.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

• Lead team members to ensure clarity and accountability of responsibilities
• Ensure deliverables are met to maintain all programs deadlines
• Coordinate and steer the collective efforts of all inspectors- (Mechanical and Electronics) and CMM programmers
• Ensure documentation of non-conformances in accordance with Rocket Lab systems and procedures in our internal ERP, MES and Issue tracking systems
• Take ownership of MRB process ensuring all parts are properly identified, and work with engineers to disposition and process hardware
• Carry out and document regular 1-1's (min. monthly) and annual performance reviews

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS A QUALITY INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Production Supervisor experience; OR high school diploma and 10 years of Production Supervisor experience in lieu of a degree in the Aerospace industry. 
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience inspecting with CMM’s, Laser Trackers, Romer Arms and microscopes

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with applying lean manufacturing principles
• Proven ability to aligning capacity to inspection forecast
• Experience preferred in fast-paced production environment with flight quality hardware
• Experience on using measurement instruments like comparators
• Familiar with IPC-610, IPC-620 or J standards

• 7:00AM - 4:00PM Monday – Friday
