A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A REGISTERED NURSE (RN) / OPERATING ROOM (OR)
As a Registered Nurse (RN) / Operating Room (OR), you are the backbone of the operating room, playing a critical role in ensuring that we provide the best possible care to surgical patients. Coordinating care with your team, you create and maintain a comfortable, safe environment for each patient. It is a combination of your excellent communication, people, and technical skills that help you excel in this nursing position. Using assessment, diagnostic, critical thinking, and planning skills, you direct the activities of the surgical team in the best interest of the patient.
With the utmost attention to detail, you take responsibility for instrument counts prior to each surgical procedure and receive supplies throughout the process. You position the patient and ensure that they are properly prepped. With a can-do attitude, you assist the physician with invasive lines, bedside procedures, and nerve blocks. During the procedure, you carefully monitor the patient's responses. You are also conscientious about documenting everything promptly and accurately. You feel great about the great care that you provide for our surgical patients while enjoying the camaraderie of being part of a great team!
