SUMMARY

The Field Specimen Phlebotomist Floater is responsible for providing coverage at multiple client sites to cover continuous coverage for Processor and Phlebotomist absences and/or Processor/Phlebotomist openings. On-site
responsibilities include collecting and shipping patient specimens in an
accurate, efficient and timely manner (urine and oral fluid specimens as well
blood draws).

STATUS: Full-time

LOCATION: East Coast Preferred (Washington DC/Maryland preferred)

DEPARTMENT: Field Services

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday; weekend flexibility

ATTRIBUTES

• High School Diploma or equivalency required
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience required; 3 years of phlebotomy experience preferred
• Graduation from a Phlebotomy Program or ability to obtain phlebotomy certification
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of time across the East Coast.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Patient Care. Greet and identify patients according to SOP.
• Sample Collection & Shipment. Collects urine and oral fluid specimens for drug testing according to SOP. Performs blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques. Packages and prepares specimens for shipping to testing location according to SOP.
• Documentation & Customer Service. Performs data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner. Performs customer service duties to include phone inquiries and patient encounters. Collects patient payments according to SOP. Collects patient payments according to SOP. Complies with safety rules and regulations to include proper handling procedures of samples, cleanliness and neatness of workstations and proper use of personal protective equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
