Detailed Job Description
  • Assist the Title IX Coordinator in the coordination and delivery of sex and gender-based harassment and discrimination education, training, outreach, and programing, including Title IX and related federal and state harassment and discrimination laws and guidance documents in NTID. Prepare, implement, disseminate and coordinate educational programs, initiatives, and materials designed to inform members of the NTID and larger campus community of Title IX rights and responsibilities, support services, grievance process and reporting obligations.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and regularly updating the University's sex and gender-based harassment and discrimination policies and procedures to ensure best practices and compliance with federal and state laws, and guidance documents.
  • Assist in overseeing sex and gender-based harassment and discrimination, including Title IX, complaints and reports involving or relating to NTID students, staff, and faculty.
  • Provide consultation with university stakeholders regarding sex and gender-based harassment and discrimination compliance and resolution of incidents.
  • Assist the Title IX Coordinator in overseeing, coordinating, and ensuring that investigations of reports and complaints of sex and gender-based misconduct involving or relating to NTID are adequate, reliable, timely, confidential and impartial;
  • Communicate, Identify and address any systemic problems relating to complaints or reports relating to NTID (or other departments, as appropriate) to ensure stakeholder awareness of important policies, procedures, and resources
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining records relating to or involving cases of sex and gender-based discrimination in NTID, including complaints and reports, investigative documents or reports, resolutions, dispositions and/or corrective actions implemented to address any cases.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working on a college campus in a role directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, such as Title IX, investigations, resolution or mitigation of sex or gender-based misconduct cases, higher education administration or oversight of such cases.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in training and programming on topics such as sex and gender-based harassment and discrimination, bystander intervention, awareness, and risk reduction.
  • Proficient in American Sign Language.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES:
  • Superior interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, including writing and presentation skills, the ability to articulate oneself in a clear and concise manner to small, large and diverse audiences.
  • Strong prioritization, analytical, and organizational skills required to prepare concise and cogent written analyses of complaints.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, to assess and negotiate complex and highly sensitive situations, maintain confidentiality, be discrete, and demonstrate neutrality and impartiality in difficult and sensitive situations, ability to conduct oneself with the utmost integrity and ethics;
  • Commitment to principles of due process, fairness, and respect.
