Detailed Job Description
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Oversee all data collection activities, including questionnaire surveys and child assessments
  • Make sure that research activities comply with approved IRB protocols and assisting with regular IRB amendments and renewals
  • Maintain lab protocols and training manuals for data collection and video transcription
  • Oversee training of student research assistants who collect data and transcribe videos
  • Purchase equipment and submit reimbursements
  • Assist as needed in setting up experiments (computer, paper tests, toys, eye-tracker)
Department/College Description
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree in psychology, education, communication, public health, marketing, business or related social science field
1 year experience in laboratory position
Skills:
  • Prior experience doing research and/or working in a school environment or for a non-profit
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience working with deaf and hard-of-hearing children or parents
  • Demonstrated familiarity with issues in infant development, parenting, psychology, deaf education, and/or social science research methodology
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, positive, friendly, enthusiastic, and community-driven
  • Advanced familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
PLEASE NOTE: The individual hired for this position will be required to have a pre-employment Motor Vehicle check, and the Motor Vehicle Report must clear RIT's Safe Driving Policy. (see Page 4)
