Supervisor General Summary
This position requires the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, changing production environment daily. This individual will communicate and collaborate with internal departments including Assembly Operations, Engineering, Production Control, Maintenance, and Quality daily to assist in reaching company objectives.
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Supervise staff, respond to subordinate requests, managing time cards, and resolving personnel issues through coaching, counseling, and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Recruit, select, onboard, and mentor employees.
- Ensure Assembly Operators are trained in and adhere to all relevant specifications and procedures.
- Maintain workflow by completing production plans, schedule/assign personnel, set work result goals, designate priorities, monitor progress, revise schedules, resolve problems, and report results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Ensure equipment is operational, respond to repair needs, and evaluate new equipment.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Contributes to KPI tracking by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data.
- In conjunction with manufacturing operations leaders, review processes for throughput and cost efficiency improvements, set processing variables, observe control points, develop reporting procedures and systems, facilitate corrections to malfunctions within process control points; may include interaction with vendors and suppliers to accomplish.
- Responsible for MES software transactions.
Supervisor Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform additional duties, as assigned.
- Assist with operational specifications and procedures updates, as required.
- Work with other internal departments on continuous improvements.
- Support the 6S Program, Continuous Improvement, and Kaizen events.
- Oversee a team of operators, inspectors, and support techs across multiple shifts.
Supervisor Qualifications
- Associate Degree in engineering, business management, manufacturing, or related field required or equivalent number of years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a semiconductor role required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a supervisory position strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of semiconductor assembly, materials, processes and equipment necessary.
- Knowledge of Lean, 6S and Continuous Improvement tools helpful.
- Must be able to multitask, prioritize, delegate and time manage available resources and adapt to the current business environment.
- Familiarity or quick development of computer skills, specifically with ERP and MES systems.
- Appreciation of our quality standards and enthusiasm for continuous improvement.
